Common Sage essential oil has a herbaceous, camphoraceous, medicinal and slightly bitter profile. Obtained from Salvia officinalis, it offers a dense green personality, very different from the soft floral character of clary sage.

Its dry and penetrating aromatic note is best suited to professional formulations or compositions requiring a clear, almost medicinal accent. It should not be treated as a casual oil, as its molecular richness calls for strict care.

In natural perfumery, it can add a strong green facet to accords with rosemary, spike lavender, cypress, juniper or frankincense, always at a very restrained dosage.
