Cypriol or Nagarmotha

Cypriol essential oil, also known as Nagarmotha, is obtained from Cyperus scariosus. It has a woody, earthy, dry, smoky and slightly leathery scent, highly valued in natural perfumery for building powerful and long-lasting base notes.

Its olfactory character evokes roots, dark woods, oriental accords and amber-like materials. It brings depth, density and excellent tenacity to compositions while retaining a raw and authentic vegetal facet.

Cypriol blends with woody, resinous, spicy, opulent floral or citrus essential oils. It pairs well with Patchouli, Cedarwood, Sandalwood, Frankincense, Vetiver, Bergamot, Ginger or Rose.

This is a characterful material, ideal for deep, oriental and enveloping natural perfumes. Its strength requires careful dosage: just a trace can transform an accord.
