Lovage

Lovage essential oil, obtained from Levisticum officinalis, has a rooty, green, spicy, slightly celery-like and deeply aromatic scent. Its fragrance is powerful, culinary and almost earthy, with a very original vegetal signature.

This essential oil is especially interesting in natural perfumery for its dark green base-note character. It brings a rooty dimension, reminiscent of crushed leaves and roots, capable of adding realism and depth to botanical compositions.

Traditionally associated with digestive comfort routines and characterful aromatic preparations, Lovage should be used carefully, at low dosage and always in a suitable formulation.

It blends with Carrot Seed, Celery, Juniper, Cedarwood, Galbanum, Ginger or citrus oils. In blends, it contributes a deep green, almost savory note that is highly useful for sophisticated natural accords.
